4. The religion of knowledge

This deathless Yoga, this deep union,
I taught Vivaswata, the Lord of Light;
Vivaswata to Manu gave it; he
To Ikshwaku; so passed it down the line
Of all my royal Rishis...

Vivaswata is the Sun. This chapter is about light. Knowledge is trapped light or action. Computer memory is a self referring transistors circuit that can trap action (flip-flops). 4ness of the chapter is also meaningful. There are 4 main players in the light theory of Maxwell's,

2+2=2*2=2^2=4
4 has a very special symmetry. Complex numbers display the light symmetry in a more compact form;

a+i*b=Sqrt(a^2+b^2)*e^(i*Arctan(b/a))
It is known as U(1) symmetry in Group Theory. In ATON, it is M1. Tetrahedron is the corresponding shape in ATON.

Krishna:
Manifold the renewals of my birth
Have been, Arjuna! and of thy births too!
But mine I know, and thine thou knowest not,

Who knows the truth touching my births on earth
And my divine work, when he quits the flesh
Puts on its load no more, falls no more down
To earthly birth: to Me he comes, dear Prince!

After their qualities and gifts.

Needs must one rightly meditate those three---
Doing,---not doing,---and undoing. Here
Thorny and dark the path is! He who sees
How action may be rest, rest action---he
Is wisest 'mid his kind; he hath the truth!
He doeth well, acting or resting. Freed
In all his works from prickings of desire,
Burned clean in act by the white fire of truth,
The wise call that man wise; and such an one,
Renouncing fruit of deeds, always content,
Always self-satisfying...

{Doing, not doing, undoing} triplet stands out. "Self-satisfying" relates to the self referring autonomy of light. Self referral is is clearly visible in the 4 Maxwell's eqns in vacuum reflecting 4 degrees of freedom. Two relate to charges, and two relate to each other.












"Renouncing fruit of deeds" also mathces light. Light travels lossless, reflecting conservation of energy.

The sacrifice is Brahm, the ghee and grain
Are Brahm, the fire is Brahm, the flesh it eats
Is Brahm, unto Brahm attaineth he
Who, in such officem meditates on Brahm.

Everything is made of light, or energy. This seems to refer to E=mc^2. Relativity also seems to be here.

...Knowing Truth, thy heart no more
Will ache with error, for the Truth shall show
All things subdued to thee, as thou to Me.

The importance of the knowledge of energy conservation and mutability. We know this one.

Tarot card-4 is Emperor. Light can be considered as a masculine quality, since energy brings matter to life. Sun is masculine, earth is feminine. 4ness is pretty obvious by the throne. Two*two rams would be electric, magnetic fields and charge, current. Metal shoes may indicate the undestroyability of light, or energy. Scepter is a circle-cross design demonstrating U(1) symmetry. The eagle on his left shoulder is another reference to light. He seems to be holding a mirror in his left hand.
